Silk was born in Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. Ilkay Silk was a well-known actor, producer and director and also a professor the course at St. Thomas University. Her parents were Peter an academic with a reputation for excellence. Anna recounts some of her earliest memories of life when she went to watch her mother perform in play rehearsals. Silk made several commercials while she was still a kid. In 1997, she graduated with her bachelor's degree at St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas was active in at least two productions in the theater's early days, including Seven Menus (1997) and The Kitchen (1999). Silk began her acting career by moving to Toronto, Canada, in the month of November 1999. She then moved from Toronto to Los Angeles for the remainder of the decade. She met her soon-to-be spouse, Seth Cooperman, at an actor's workshop located in Los Angeles, in 2007. The couple was married in a civil ceremony on the 10th of December 2009 following their engagement. They renewed their vows April 10th, 2011, in Fredericton following the wedding, when the bride changed her religion to Judaism.
